It’s been almost six years since I’ve created my very own personal blog.
This wasn’t my first blog, at all. I created a Tumblr blog back in 2011, and that was the main reason I created a few blogs before this one. I believe I had two. I’ve always been so insecure about myself, and about exposing myself in a blog that I deleted both of them. Until, I grew some balls and decided to not give a f anymore. And here we are, almost six years later, with my beautiful baby blog, many stories to tell and many lessons learned.
Today I want to shared with you what I’ve learned in all these years. I really hope you like this post. :)
Já se passaram quase seis anos desde que criei o meu blog pessoal.
Este não foi de todo o meu primeiro blog. Criei um blog no Tumblr em 2011, e essa foi a razão principal de ter criado alguns blogs antes deste. Acho que foram dois. Sempre fui muito insegura sobre mim, e sobre expor me num blog, que apaguei os dois. Até que decidi ganhar tomates e não querer mais saber. E aqui estamos, quase seis anos depois, com o meu blog lindo, muitas histórias para contar e muitas lições aprendidas.
Hoje quero partilhar com vocês o que aprendi nestes anos todos. Espero muito que gostem deste post. :)
Quality over quantity
It’s not about how often you post, but about the quality of your content. You can post every single day and have a bad content or post once a week and have and amazing content.
When I’m referring to content, I mean everything - words, photos, etc.
Be transparent
I always try my best to be transparent with you and be myself. But of course, there’s a few things I don’t share on my blog.
I feel like I’ve started to be more personal with you again since March and it feels so good. It’s feels like a connection, you know what I mean? This blog isn’t only about looks and travel. It’s also about me sharing what I’m feeling or what I think.
Not be embarrassed
This one took me a while to learn. It actually took me years!
My friends only started to know about my blog two years ago. Before it, I didn’t want anyone to know about it which it’s so ridiculous. My blog isn’t something I should be embarrassed of, but something I should be really proud. This blog has brought me so many good things.
Also, be embarrassed of taking pictures in public spaces. This took me a while too, but now I just don’t care.
Qualidade acima de quantidade
Não é a quantidade de vezes que se publica algo, mas sim sobre a qualidade do conteúdo. Podem postar todos os dias e ter um conteúdo mau, or postar uma vez por semana e ter um conteúdo maravilhoso.
Quando me estou a referir a conteúdo, refiro-me a tudo: palavras, fotografias, etc.
Ser transparente
Eu tento sempre o meu melhor para ser transparente com vocês e ser eu mesma, mas claro que existem coisas que eu não partilho no meu blog.
Sinto que comecei a partilhar coisas mais pessoais outra vez desde março e sabe tão bem. É uma conexão, entendem o que eu quero dizer? Este blog não é só sobre outfits e viagens, é também sobre eu partilhar com vocês o que estou a sentir ou o que penso.
Não ter vergonha
Este tópico demorou um bocadinho para eu aprender, aliás demorou anos!
Os meus amigos só começaram a saber do meu blog há dois anos. Antes disso, eu não queria que ninguém soubesse, o que é só ridículo. O meu blog não é algo que eu deva de ter vergonha, mas sim algo que eu tenho de ter orgulho. Este blog já me trouxe tantas coisas boas.
E também, ter vergonha de tirar fotos em espaços públicos. Este também demorou um bocadinho, mas agora já não me importo.

I’m not the same person I was six years ago when I started this blog, and for sure my content isn’t the same as well.
It’s okay to take a break
Sometimes it’s essential. To renew yourself, to find some motivation/ inspiration, to change, to grow. We’re humans, not robots. We all need breaks from time to time.
A seguir os meus sonhos
Não importa nada, nem o que eles são, e nunca desistir.
Estamos sempre a mudar
E também os blogues.
Eu não sou a mesma pessoa que era há seis anos atrás quando comecei este blog, e o meu conteúdo também não é, de todo, o mesmo.
Não faz mal em fazermos uma pausa
Por vezes é essencial. Para nos renovarmos, para encontrarmos alguma motivação/ inspiração, para mudar, para crescer. Somos humanos, não somos robots. Todos nós precisamos de uma pausa de tempos a tempos.
Haters gonna hate
I read somewhere once that “If you don’t have anyone hating on you, it’s because you aren’t doing a good job”. And this is so true. People will hate you no matter what. It’s just impossible to please everyone in this world, and that’s okay. I’m not here for that.
On the other hand, lovers gonna love and this is where we need to focus.
Blogging isn’t easy
People often think that having a blog is the easiest thing ever. You just write a few words and that’s it. But this isn’t the truth. Having a blog requires so much offline work which people don’t see at all.
You need to think about the posts, about how and where to take pics, answering emails, writing the posts, find the perfect words, editing posts/pictures… it’s much more than you think, and it’s what makes this fun.
Anything is possible
If you work hard enough for it.
Os haters vão odiar
Uma vez li que “Se não tens ninguém a odiar-te, é porque não estás a fazer um bom trabalho”. E isto é tão verdade. As pessoas vão sempre odiar, não importa porquê. É impossível agradar toda a gente neste mundo, e está tudo bem com isso. Também não estou aqui para isso.
Por outro lado, os amantes vão amar e é nisso que nos precisamos de focar.
Ser blogger não é fácil
As pessoas muitas vezes pensam que ter um blog é a coisa mais fácil deste mundo. Escrevem alguma palavras e já está, mas isto não é a verdade. Ter um blog requere muito trabalho offline que as pessoas não vêm de todo.
Temos de pensar no posts, pensar em como e onde tirar as fotos, responder a emails, escrever os posts, encontrar as palavras perfeitas, editar os posts/ fotos… é muito mais do que vocês pensam, e é isso que torna tudo mais divertido.
Tudo é possível
Se trabalharmos o suficiente para isso.
Consistency is key
This is definitely the most important thing when it comes to have a blog. You need to be consistent, have a routine and a schedule. I noticed my blog started to grow when I set a posting schedule back in 2016.
Blogging is great for networking
Having a blog or any social media platform is great to expand your networking. I lost count how many great people I’ve met through my platforms, including great contacts and names in the fashion/ blog industry.
Appreciate everyone who takes time to read my words
I will be forever grateful for this. You have no idea how much I love to see from where you guys are. I feel so happy every time I see a new country in my views.
It’s amazing how this tiny blog take my words everywhere in this world.

Consistência é a chave
Isto é sem dúvida a coisa mais importante quando se fala de blogs. Tem de ser consistentes, ter uma rotina e um horário. Eu reparei que o meu blog começou a crescer quando eu criei um horário de posts em 2016.
Ter um blog é ótimo para networking
Ter um blog ou qualquer outra rede social é ótimo para expandir o vosso networking. Eu já perdi a conta à quantidade de pessoas que eu já conheci devido às minas plataformas, incluindo bons contactos e nomes no mundo da moda/ blogs.
Apreciar toda a gente que tira tempo para ler as minhas palavras
Eu vou ser sempre muito grata por isto. Vocês não tem noção do quanto eu adoro ver de onde vocês são. Fico tão feliz cada vez que vejo um país novo nas minhas views.
É maravilhoso ver como este blog pequenino leva as minhas palavras a todo o lado no mundo.
